The Sawtooth basin offers miles of trails for world class hiking, horseback riding, offroad vehicles, and mountain biking. There are fishing opportunities in rivers, lakes and streams. Highway 75 is a popular for touring by car, motorcycle or bicycle. The Smiley Creek Airport is just 200 yards from the lodge.

Hours from June 19-September 13 are 8 am - 9 pm daily.

Snowmobile Country

Winter Season is Dec 20 - April 15

Our lodge is located near the headwaters of the Salmon River. Spend a few hours or a day touring the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Snowmobilers will enjoy the groomed trail which traverses the beautiful Stanley Basin, linking Smiley Creek Lodge to Stanley and Lowman. As a day trip, the 18 mile section to Redfish Lake comes with breathtaking views of the Sawtooth Mountains and a good chance to see wildlife. There are also many ungroomed trails in the adjacent Sawtooth National Recreation Area. There is plenty of terrain for snowshoe-ers, nordic skiers and back-country alpine skiing as well. Don't forget your camera!
